Residential members may purchase energy before they use it. Members receive alerts when their account is running low and they can reload it any time! Prepay members avoid late fees, collection fees, paper bills and are better able to monitor their energy usage.
1) Start by calling 800-292-6585 and ask for Prepay Service.
2) Load $100 or more onto your account.
3) Done! (You can check SmartHub to monitor your daily usage)

To pay with cash, visit our office in Shelbyville or locate the Vanilla Direct Barcode, included on your Shelby Energy bill, and visit any of the participating Vanilla Direct locations

Extension and Payment Arrangement Plans
If you are having problems paying your bill, arrangements can be made on an individual basis to extend payments. Payment arrangements can be made by telephone if the extension is 30 days or less or an over 30 day extension can be made in person at our Shelbyville office.
