Connect or Transfer Service

This information is provided to prospective members that will be connecting or transferring service at an existing Shelby Energy location. Please view the Shelby Energy Territory Map to determine your electric service provider.

Connect Service: 

To create an account with Shelby Energy Cooperative, please contact a Billing & Customer Service Specialist (CSS) at 800-292-6585, visit the Shelby Energy office, or complete the Application for Service

  • You will be asked to provide your new service address, contact information, SSN, Birth Date, and deposit (if applicable*).
    *There is no membership fee. A deposit is required but may be waived if the consumer shows satisfactory credit or payment history. Required deposits may be returned after one year if the member has established a satisfactory payment record for that period. 
  • A membership application will be provided to you including your unique account number. This form must be returned within 15 days of beginning your new service.

Transfer Service:

To transfer an existing account, please contact our office. You will be asked to complete the membership application and provide the personal information listed above. A deposit may be required.
