Shelby Energy Chairman Retires
SHELBYVILLE, Ky – With more than four decades of leadership and unwavering commitment, Ashley Chilton, Chairman of the Board for Shelby Energy, will retire effective January 2025. Ashley has been an instrumental figure in the cooperative’s growth, guiding the organization through transformative changes in the electric utility industry while steadfastly advocating for the needs of its members.
Throughout his years of service, Ashley has played a key role in shaping the cooperative’s vision, overseeing the expansion of services, and ensuring its financial stability. Under his leadership, Shelby Energy has grown to 18,000 members, expanded its infrastructure, and embraced new technologies to meet the evolving needs of the cooperative.
“We are deeply grateful for Ashley’s decades long leadership,” said Jack Bragg, CEO of Shelby Energy. “Through his guidance, the cooperative has become a leader in the electricity industry, and we are well-positioned for continued success. We wish Ashley the very best in this next chapter.”
The Board of Directors has already begun the process of selecting a successor to fill the Chairman role and ensure a smooth transition for the cooperative. Pat Hargadon will serve as interim Chairman during this time.
