2018 has been a busy one at Shelby Energy. We are thankful for another year of service to our members and their communities. With new projects, programs, and a new President & CEO, the year has been nothing less than exciting!
As in years past, Shelby Energy sponsored two local veterans for Honor Flight, a trip to Washington D.C. to see the monuments created in their honor. We also sponsored three high school students to attend the Washington D.C. Youth Tour and many local school programs, charities, and community events.
Along with a few partnering Touchstone Energy Cooperatives, $13,200 was donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities to help families with sick children and the group, including Shelby Energy, served as Platinum sponsors for the 2018 Special Olympics Kentucky State Summer Games.
Our line technicians stayed sharp by completing multiple safety trainings and pole-top rescue trainings so they're always prepared and safe in any situation. They share their knowledge throughout the year through Shelby Energy's Safety Day and multiple live-line safety demonstrations upon request from local organizations, helping our members stay safe and aware. They also represented Shelby Energy in the 2018 Linemen's Rodeo in September and we couldn't be more proud!
As the year ends, we also want to take a moment to thank our members. We serve homes and businesses in nine counties and we are so thankful for all of them; their support and encouragement to our line technicians, their patience when there's work to be done, and their involvement in Shelby Energy programs . We serve the best!
2018 is drawing to a close, but we look forward to what 2019 has in store and we wish everyone has a safe and happy holiday season!
